Competing On The Basis Of Speed
An interesting techtalk on “Competing On The Basis Of Speed” by Mary Poppendieck about the importance of speed for every business.
I like it, even if it nothing very exciting or new and follows basic principals of modern programming paradigms. The concept of test-first, refactoring as well as short-iterations are well supported in various continous integration tools.

Very interessting video. Shows very good that competition on the basis of speed is the right way to gain significant competitive advantages. Thas liese in the dymamic of todays economy
I found it very exiting how wisely that wooman talk about software development. Change-Tolerance will my personal buzz word in next time ;). Ok the “keep it simple” idea i considered allready bevore, i think.
Further, that lady show us what to do to be time competitive and change tolerant. It is good idea to have multiple options and it is good idea to defer ireversible desisions to latest possible point. Sounds simple isn’t ?

Next thing that i learned is: Minimize the number and size of Things in Process and establish Cadence!!!
That is how to make process to bring real gain!. Awesome! I have not thought about this site of flow before.
